A fatal shooting in Winnemucca is under investigation after two men exchanged gunfire during an altercation, leaving one dead.
According to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, Will Delong and Rayvn Fairchild were involved in an argument at Jackson Creek Ranch around 9 p.m. on Sunday. During the confrontation, both men reportedly fired one shot at each other. Fairchild was killed, while Delong was flown by air ambulance to Reno for treatment.
Authorities say the two men did not appear to know each other. An autopsy for Fairchild is being conducted by the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office.
