$750,000 in grant funding available for off-highway vehicle projects

Outdoor enthusiasts and community leaders across Nevada have a golden opportunity to enhance the state's off-highway vehicle (OHV) landscape, with $750,000 in grant funding now available through the Nevada Off-Highway Vehicles Program. The program is currently accepting applications for projects aimed at improving OHV infrastructure and promoting responsible, safe outdoor recreation across the state. The deadline to apply is November 17, 2024.

Whether it’s maintaining existing trails, acquiring land, improving signage, or providing safety training, this grant program funds initiatives that make Nevada’s extensive OHV network safer and more enjoyable for all.

Funded by OHV registration dollars, these grants are crucial for preserving the state's scenic trails and ensuring future generations can experience Nevada's diverse terrain.

The Nevada Commission on Off-Highway Vehicles will select the grant recipients on December 13, 2024. In recent years, the program has funded projects like trailhead infrastructure in Mineral County, Tonopah, and Mesquite, as well as educational initiatives led by Tread Lightly! and law enforcement support in Storey County.

For those with a vision to improve Nevada’s off-highway recreation, applications and the full grant manual are available online at https://ohv.nv.gov/grant-program. Interested parties are encouraged to act quickly as the deadline approaches.
