Lowry girls soccer gets back on winning track with blanking of Pershing County

Just a few days after suffering its worst loss of the season, the Lowry High School girls soccer team took out its frustrations against Pershing County on Tuesday, Sept. 24, in Lovelock.

The Lady Bucks blanked the Mustangs 11-0, in a match shortened by the NIAA mercy rule.

That was the final of a six-match road trip that saw Lowry improve to 8-2 in the Northern 3A East.

Six different Lowry players found the back of the net, leading to an 8-0 advantage at halftime.

The Lady Bucks added three more goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half.

Buckaroo junior Natalya Guizar came back with a hat trick of three goals, while fellow junior Maura Braatz added pair of goals to go with an assist.

Adalyn Entwistle. Maite Avalos, Britain Backus and Kepa Hilbish each had one goal. 

Backus and Hilbish contributed two assists apiece and Ava Swensen and Avalos each had an assist.

Lowry was off this past weekend and returns to its home field this weekend for the first time since Aug. 31. 

Elko visits on Friday for a 3:45 p.m. start and Spring Creek travels to Winnemucca on Saturday for an 11:45 a.m. match.
