It was scheduled to be another doubleheader week for the Lowry High School girls golf team.
The Buckaroos traveled to Dayton and the Arnold Palmer designed Dayton Valley Country Club on Monday, Sept. 23.
However, late tee times led to not everyone finishing due to darkness.
The tournament did not start until noon and every player began their round on No. 1. The final groups didn’t tee off until 2 p.m.
The action got underway much earlier the following day in Fallon, with all the golf getting completed.
As it has been all year, Truckee and Lowry battled for the top team spot with the Wolverines coming out on top 381-389.
South Tahoe was third at 423, followed by Fernley (443), Spring Creek (445), Churchill County (453) and North Valleys (454).
Elko at 464 and Dayton (566) completed the team scores.
Truckee freshman Allison Mortimeyer was the low medalist, with an impressive round of 72.
Lowry’s Katie Cassinelli was second at 81 and Truckee’s Alina Gillespie (83) finished third.
Lainey Novacek broke 100 for the Buckaroos, shooting a 97, with Jordyn Medicine-Cloud (105) and Presley Hayes (106) complying the final two scores for the team total.
Kailani Rodriguez shot 115 and Baylie Miller carded a 118.
Truckee and Lowry have pulled away in the season-long team standings and are nearing bids in the state championships, which will be back at Dayton Valley Country Club.
Churchill County holds the third and final transfer spot, with Elko, Spring Creek and South Tahoe chasing.
The Northern 3A doesn’t contest a regional championship and the three state tournament berths are based on the final point standings.
The regular season concludes Oct. 7, in Truckee and Oct. 8, in South Tahoe.
