FCC's remodel and beautification project brings needed updates

The Frontier Community Coalition (FCC), in partnership with Lander County, has completed a significant remodel and beautification project at the FCC Family Resource Center.

The initiative aims to create a more welcoming and confidential environment for both staff and community members who rely on the critical services offered at the facility.

The project included a number of improvements to the building, such as fresh coats of paint on both the interior and exterior, new furniture, updated lighting, and the removal of an old shed and fencing.

The food pantry was relocated, and a new clothing pantry was added in the large county-provided shop building.

These updates were made possible through generous support and funding from Lander County.

FCC Executive Director Wendy Nelsen, along with her husband Mike and her father, retired Judge Richard Wagner, dedicated countless hours to beautifying the facility inside and out. Lander County employees, including Reid DeVries, Glen Duval, Donnie Prince, Bert Ramos, Sean Bakker, Brad Olsen, and Nico Pittman, also contributed their time and skills to help bring the project to life.

“We are thrilled to see this transformation,” said Wendy Nelsen, FCC Executive Director. “The improved environment reflects the value and respect we have for the people we serve, as well as the dedication of our FCC staff and all those who volunteered. This collaboration demonstrates how partnerships ca11-27 Lander - building beautification enhance community resources and make community beautification a reality.”

Plans are now underway to complete exterior landscaping improvements, fix the sidewalks, and update the signage, further enhancing the center’s accessibility and appearance.

The remodel is a perfect example of FCC’s mission to “build partnerships to support healthy communities.” This project highlights the positive impact of working together with Lander County to create a lasting benefit for local residents.
