The Lowry High School swim team made its way to Fernley on Friday, April 26, for a dual with Fernley and North Tahoe.
The Buckaroo boys lost 94-61 to North Tahoe and 73-64 to Fernley.
The Lowry girls knocked off North Tahoe 92-89 and lost 112-83 to Fernley.
In the boys dual against Fernley, Tanner Hatch won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.28 seconds and was the runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly (1:11.04).
Steven Camacho collected the other individual for the Buckaroos, taking the top spot in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:09.76. Camacho placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:23.86).
Garrett Jensen placed second in the 50-yard freestyle at 28.47 and was third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:43.07. Kelsen Sisley was second in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:39.03 and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:17.52).
The foursome of Jensen, Sisley, Camacho and Hatch won the 400-yard relay while the same four in the 200-yard relay were second.
In the North Tahoe dual, Hatch’s and Camacho’s times were good enough to win the races as well. Hatch finished second in the 100 butterfly and Jensen was second in the 50 freestyle and third in the 100-breastsroke.
Jensen, Sisley, Camacho and Hatch won the 200-yard relay with a time of 1:39.03.
Lowry girls split with North Tahoe, Fernley
Lowry edged North Tahoe by three points to earn the dual wins, as Tea Bengoa stopped the clock at 2:39.17 to win the 200-yard freestyle.
Bengoa also won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:35.47), while Makenna Toland won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:54.10. Toland placed fourth in the 50-yard freestyle (33.27).
Lizzie Harmon led the way in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:15.91 and was fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:55.42). Aidan Peters won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 7:54.77 to go with a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (33.07), with Alora McClure winning the 100-yard backstroke at 1:47.60.
Evie Morgan and Mia Martinez placed second and third in the 100-yard breaststroke, with Caitlyn Peters sixth in the event.
In the dual with Fernley, Bengoa was quickest in the 200-yard freestyle and Toland in the 200-yard individual medley. Bengoa placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke and Peters was second in the 500 freestyle.
Bengoa, Morgan, Peters and Harmon won the 400-yard relay.
Lowry closed out the regular season this past weekend and travel to Carson City on Friday and Saturday for the Northern 3A Regional Championships.
