The McDermitt High School track and field team wrapped up the regular season this past Saturday at the Don and Lynda Walton Invitational at Lowry High School in Winnemucca.
Shandon Camas turned in a second-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 41 feet, 2 inches.
Lowry’s Nomar Aguirre, the reigning 3A state champion was the only thrower to beat him. The sophomore was 12th in the discus (99-3).
Chris Scott placed seventh in the triple jump (32-0), 11th in the long jump (15-4.5) and 13th in the in the 110-meter hurdles (22.73).

Warrick Crutcher finished 20th in both the 800 meters with a time of 2:53.58 and the long jump (11-9).
AJ Farmer placed 10th in the shot put with a throw of 34-8 and the sophomore was 11th in the discus at 100-6.
On the girls side, Leloni Tobey finished third in the discus (85-11.5) and fourth in the shot put (27-4), with Kiarra Crutcher sixth in the shot put (27-4) and 13th in the discus (74-4).
Cierra Smart placed seventh in the shot put with a throw of 26-3 and 10th in the discus (77-5),
McDermitt travels to Sparks and Reed High School on Saturday for the Norther 1A Trials. The Northern 1A Regional Championship is May 10-11 at Carson High School.
