ELKO — Two virtual information forums will be held to gather public input for the proposed Rooster’s Comb solar variance project. This proposed solar project could encompass approximately 3,293 acres of public lands in Lander and Humboldt counties, approximately 18 miles north of Battle Mountain, Nevada.
“We look forward to hearing from our public on the proposed Rooster’s Comb Solar Project,” said Elisabeth Puentes, Tuscarora Field Manager. “The Tuscarora Field Office values input from our stakeholders, partners, Tribal governments, and public and we welcome their input as we move through the solar variance process.”
Rooster’s Comb Solar Energy LLC has submitted an application for a right-of-way grant for the construction, operation, maintenance, and eventual decommissioning of a proposed 400-megawatt solar energy facility and 345-kilovolt transmission generation tie-in line, including an onsite battery energy storage system, access roads, onsite substation, and other ancillary facilities.
• WHAT: The forums will begin with a short presentation on the solar variance process and Rooster’s Comb Solar Project, a question-and-answer session, and finish with a public input period.
• WHEN: March 21, 2024 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Please register to attend here https://bit.ly/3Id9fs7
This virtual information forum is being held as part of the solar application process and will inform BLM’s determination on whether to continue to process or to deny the Rooster’s Comb Solar Project right-of-way application.
