Stoker passes former Buckaroo for school and 3A record for homers


Fresh off scoring 2,000 points, claiming 3A Player of the Year and winning a third straight state championship in basketball, Lowry High School senior Savannah Stoker is moving up the record books in softball.

In 2023, Stoker set the single-season Nevada record for home runs with 21.

This past Saturday, she hit two home runs against South Tahoe to break Lowry’s and the 3A record for career home runs with 44.

That record was previously held by Sydney Connors, who hit 43 home runs from 2016-19.

Connors finds herself in may spots in the NIAA record book.

“So proud of her,” said Connors on Facebook post.

The all-time record in Nevada is 46, held by Laughlin’s Brittany Chase, who played from 2007-10.

Lowry travels to Elko this weekend for a doubleheader on Friday and a single game on Saturday. 

The Lady Bucks return home on March 29-30 to play Fernley.
