In conditions more suitable for a polar plunge or ice fishing, the Lowry High School boys team hosted a preseason icebreaker at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course.
Elko, Spring Creek and Fernley made the trip on Wednesday, March 13. Cold temperatures and a brisk wind greeted the players on the day.
The Northern 3A regular season begins on March 25-26 in Dayton and Fernley.
