When Mother Nature unleashed her fury in northern Nevada and you are a spring sport, you need to improvise at times.
The Lowry High School baseball team was scheduled to travel to north Reno this past Friday to play North Valleys in a crossover game.
While the snow melted in downtown Reno, the North Valleys and Stead area still has plenty of snow.
The two teams moved their game to Fallon, with North Valleys picking up a 14-4 win.
Lowry did play at Sparks on Saturday and easily cruised to a doubleheader sweep (11-1, 18-1) to improve to 3-5 on the season.

North Valleys 14, Lowry 4
North Valleys took a 6-0 lead after two innings of play, including a five-run second inning. Lowry got on the board in the top of the third inning with a pair of runs, including an RBI-double by Matthew Casalez.
The Panthers broke the game open with seven runs in the third inning to lead 13-2. Erick Valencia added an RBI double in the fifth inning.
Eight different Lowry players had one hit including Valencia, Casalez, Kasyn Garner, Gabe Lange. Bryce Niblack, Angus Boyles, Aidan Tregellas and Jakob Bauman.
Boyles and Adam Brooks split time on the mound, with Boyles suffering the loss.

Lowry junior ReiCyan Grau was dominant in the opening game at Sparks on Saturday, as he struck out 12 batters and walked just one.
He allowed one run on two hits. The walk and run came in the sixth inning for the Railroaders.
The Buckaroos plated five runs in the opening inning and never looked back, adding two runs in the second and sixth innings and one each in the fourth and fifth inning.
Bauman contributed to the five-run first inning with a two-RBI double to score Valencia and Boyles. Anthony Guzman added an RBI-double in the first as well.
Bauman added his third RBI of the game with a single in the third inning and the junior later scored on a passed ball.
Niblack, Bauman and Boyles each had two hits for the Buckaroos and Valencia, Grau, Tregellas and Grau had one hit apiece.

Lowry 18, Sparks 1
Lowry picked up another stellar pitching performance from Niblack and Tregellas. Niblack started and struck out five and walked one in two innings of work.
Tregellas threw wo innings and allowed one hit and one run. He struck out two and walked two.
Leading 1-0 going into the third inning, the Buckaroos scored 13 runs in the third inning and ended the game in the fourth inning due to the 15-run mercy rule.
Niblack also led the team with three hits and Connor Peterson, Garner and Bauman each had two hits. Garner, Boyles and Bauman each had two RBI.
Lowry makes its home debut on Friday against Truckee at 1 p.m.
The Wolverines are 3-0 on the season with a win over Spring Creek and a doubleheader sweep of Elko.
Lowry hosts Hug on Saturday in a doubleheader at 10 a.m.
