Humboldt County will be well represented at the National High School Finals Rodeo in July in Rock Springs, Wyo., after their performances at the state final in Winnemucca over Memorial Day weekend.
Emma Garijo was crowned the state champion in pole bending along with Eureka’s Quil Filippini. Both cowgirls finished with 282 points on the season.
Humboldt County’s Billy Delong stays on for the full eight seconds in saddle bronc.
Garijo used three strong performances in barrel racing to finish as the reserve state champion and punched her ticket to Wyoming in the event.
The senior, who is headed to UNLV, was the reserve state champion in breakaway roping as well.
Brynn Barto will be traveling to Wyoming in July, after winning the state champion crown in barrel racing.

Natalie Mori won the state championship in reined cow horse and will join her teammates in Wyoming, as will Matti DeLong.
DeLong was the reserve state champion all-around cowgirl and placed third in both breakaway roping and goat tying.
DeLong was sixth in breakaway roping entering the state finals but three strong performances propelled her to third.
To advance to the national finals, you have to finish in the top four of each event in the final season-long point standings.
Billy DeLong will be competing in three events at the national finals and was the reserve state champion all-around cowboy.
DeLong, who will be headed to New Mexico State in the fall, was the reserve champion in saddle bronc to go with a third-place finish in cutting and fourth in steer wrestling.
Lane Byrd collected a fourth-place finish in boys cutting to qualify for the national finals and Logan Marshall was fourth in trap shooting.
Holman qualifies for nationals for Battle Mountain Club
Italy Jo Holman, a member of the Battle Mountain High School Rodeo Club, finished fourth in pole bending to stamp her trip to Wyoming in July.
She will be joined by Eli and Amelia Lancaster, who were fourth in team roping.
The National High School Finals Rodeo takes place July 14-20, at the Sweetwater Events Complex in Rock Springs, Wyo.
