In the case of Joshua Quincy Heckman, charged with, 1: License Cancelled/Suspended/Revoked, 2: Operating an Unregistered Vehicle, 3: No Proof of Insurance. Defendant is currently serving a 24 month sentence in the Nevada Dept. of Corrections for a separate matter. The case was reset for a review hearing on December 5, 2024 at 8:15a.m. Motion and order to dismiss filed.
July 17
In the case of Benjamin Riley Vincent, charged with, 1: DUI – 1st Offense, 2: Speeding. County was represented by DDA Elizabeth Evans. County amended criminal complaint 1 to Reckless Driving.
Defendant entered a No Contest plea to both charges.
The court canvassed his plea and accepted the same, the court ruled as follows: Fined $1,345 and was given credit for $300 for jail time served, leaving a balance of $1,045 to be paid in full by September 3, 2024.
Defendant was ordered to have the interlock device for a period of 185 days and will receive any credit upon proof of installation.

In the case of Gregg Alan Shelley Jr., charged with, 1: Driving While License is Cancelled, Revoked, or Suspended, 2: Tampering with or Driving w/out Device that Tests a Person’s Breath to Determine the Concentration of Alcohol in His or Her Breath. County was represented by DDA Steve Girardot.
The state called one witness, the defense called no witnesses.
The county offered two exhibits which were marked. The defense made a verbal motion to suppress evidence, the court denied the motion. Exhibits were admitted.
It appearing to the court by the evidence and testimony presented, that the defendant was not guilty of both counts and this matter was acquitted.
In the case of Gregg Alan Shelley Jr., charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. The state was represented by DDA Steve Girardot.
The state called two witnesses, the defense called no witnesses.
The state offered six exhibits which were marked.
The defense made a verbal motion to suppress evidence. After a brief recess, the court reviewed the cited NRS and denied the motion. Exhibits 1-6 were admitted.
It appearing to the court by the evidence and testimony presented, and the criminal complaint reads possession of a controlled substance – A Category D Felony, and the state failed to provide any proof of a prior conviction, therefore the court dismissed this matter.
In the case of Elias Eric Hernandez, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. The state amended complaint to Possess Drug not to be Introduced into Interstate Commerce – a misdemeanor.
The defendant entered a No Contest plea. The court canvassed his plea and accepted the same, the court ruled as follows:
Fined $1,140, which was converted to 14 days jail time and given credit for time served.
In the case of Elias Eric Hernandez, charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Pursuant to negotiations, the defendant entered a No Contest plea.
The court canvassed his plea and accepted the same, the court ruled as follows: Fined $640, which were converted to 14 days jail time served for this case and associated case.

In the case of Samantha Jo Scott, charged with Trespass. Pursuant to the negotiation, the defendant entered a No Contest plea, the court ruled as follows: Fined $100, to be paid in full by October 1, 2024.
