Nevada will receive $7.7 million in federal funding to purchase 25 electric school buses, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced this week.
The funding will come from the EPA’s 2023 Clean School Bus Grant Program. The electric vehicles will replace 25 diesel buses over the next three years in Lander, Elko, Lyon and Douglas counties and Carson City.
The Nevada Clean Energy Fund led the application and will administer the funds; NV Energy, the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection and the World Resources Institute Electric School Bus Initiative were also involved in securing the funding.
