James “Jimmy” Humm, former director of compliance and regulatory affairs for the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), was appointed as the new executive director of the Cannabis Compliance Board yesterday.
Humm also served as the deputy chief of staff and legislative liaison for the Office of the Nevada Attorney General.
“I am humbled and honored to be appointed by Governor Lombardo to serve in this role,” Humm said in a press release. “I look forward to … executing the governor’s agenda to ethically regulate this burgeoning industry.”
Humm will replace Tyler Klimas, who was appointed to the position in 2020 by Gov. Steve Sisolak. He said in an interview with The Nevada Independent that his last day is this Friday.
Klimas said his departure comes after telling the governor in September that he would step down to launch a nationally focused cannabis and hemp consulting firm.
