The Battle Mountain High School girls basketball team evened its Northern 2A record at 2-2 and improved to 10-4 overall with a 44-25 win over Coral Academy of Reno on Friday, Dec. 22, in Battle Mountain.
The Lady Longhorns held a two point lead (12-10) after eight minutes of play and turned on the defensive pressure in the second half, holding the Falcons to five points.
Sophomore Noel Hill led the way for the Lady Longhorns with 14 points, four assists, three rebounds and two assists.
Stevlana Martinez joined her in double figures with 10 points to go with five rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block.
Thalia Gonzalez contributed seven points, two rebounds and two assists and Lindsey Bleak and Jenna Chopp each scored four points. Chopp added seven rebounds and three blocks.
Heidy Amezcua finished with two points, four steals and an assist.
Battle Mountain traveled to West Wendover on Jan. 3, and results were not available at press time.
The Lady Longhorns return to their home floor on Friday at 6 p.m. to play Silver Stage and Saturday against Sierra Lutheran at 2 p.m.
