Battle Mountain cruises past Coral Academy to improve to 3-1 in Northern 2A play

The Battle Mountain High School boys basketball team closed out the 2023 calendar year with a 65-22 win over Coral Academy of Reno to improve to 3-1 in the Northern 2A and 8-5 overall.

Freshman Geovanni Ruvalcaba finished with a game-high 14 points to go with four assists and three steals.

Senior Blake Stuart added 11 points and five rebounds and freshman Brodie Smith netted nine points, one assist and one rebound.

Lewis Strong contributed eight points, Luis Guizar five, Adan Nevarez added four points, nine rebounds, five assists and five steals and Chase Baum scored three points. 

Zayne Hall finished with two points, four assists, three steals and three rebounds.

Battle Mountain traveled to West Wendover on Jan. 3, and results were not available at press time.

The Longhorns return to their home floor on Friday at 7:30 p.m. to play Silver Stage and Saturday against Sierra Lutheran at 3:30 p.m.
