It was an up and down season for the Lowry High School boys basketball team.
The Buckaroos were competitive in a majority of its Northern 3A East games but could not come away with a victory.
It all came together for Lowry on senior night and Winterfest week on Friday with a 68-44 win over Dayton.
In the season finale on Saturday afternoon, Lowry gave league champion Fernley all it could handle, but the Vaqueros held on for a 68-60 win.
The Buckaroos finished the year 10-15 overall and 1-9 in the Northern 3A East.

Lowry 68, Dayton 44
Lowry grabbed an early 12-4 advantage in the first quarter after five straight points from senior Kasyn Garner, which included an old-fashioned 3-point play and bucket from fellow senior Dempsey Jenkins.
The Dust Devils converted a 3-point shot to close the gap to 12-9 at the start of the second quarter, then it was Buckaroos after that.
Aided by 3-pointers from Jenkins and Austin White and a pair of buckets from Garner, Lowry led 37-19 at halftime.
Jenkins pushed the lead to 39-21 early in the third quarter, when Dayton followed with a 15-6 run to close the gap to 45-36 with 2:20 left in the third quarter.
The Buckaroos regrouped to score the final seven points of the quarter and the first five points of the fourth quarter to lead 57-36. Lowry’s largest lead was at 67-39.

Fernley 68, Lowry 60
Aided by five points from Jenkins, including a 3-pointer and baskets from Conner Nelson, Anthony Guzman and Garner, the Buckaroos led 12-10 after a quarter of play.
A 3-pointer by Jaden Jimenez push the advantage to 15-10, when Fernley rallied with a 15-4 run to go in front 25-21. The Vaqueros led 29-21 at halftime.
After the lull in the second quarter, the Buckaroos came back to close the gap to 40-37 midway through the third quarter after a basket by Garner and a 3-pointer from Jenkins. Fernley came back with a 6-1 run, when Nelson hit a shot to make the score 46-40 going into the fourth quarter.
The Vaqueros stretched the advantage to 52-41, when Jimenez and Dempsey knocked down shots to close the gap to 52-45.
Fernley was able to hold in the end, making free throws as Lowry was forced to foul at the end.
Jenkins paced the Buckaroos with 17 points, with Guzman and Jimenez finishing with 15 and 13, respectfully. Garner netted eight points, Nelson five and Matthew Casalez two.
