Pershing County loses to North Tahoe

Last Friday, Pershing County traveled to Tahoe City to compete against the top team in the 2A, North Tahoe (15-0). The Mustangs managed to tie up the score at the half but ran into foul trouble and lost their momentum.

Pershing County’s only losses of the year have been against the Lakers.

“We really thought we were prepared for North Tahoe. We turned over the ball way too much and couldn’t get much going. In the second half things went from bad to worse for us,” said Houston.

Sophomore Riley Harvey  put up a fight.

“Riley was a huge bright spot for us in this game. We were proud of how she competed on both ends of the floor,” said Houston. Burrows led the scoring with 11 points. Harvey added eight.

What’s next?

The season culminates with the state tournament Feb. 23-24.

It takes place in Reno at the Lawlor Events Center and the Virginia Street gym.
