It’s a rare site to see the Lowry High School wrestling team in its hometown but every December the Buckaroos get three days to perform in front of their home crowd.
In what has become an annual event, Lowry hosted South Tahoe this past Thursday in a dual and knocked off the Vikings 63-13 in preparation for the Cody Louk Invitational.
Lowry was gifted 18 points at the start, as Edward Jones, Pete Bengochea and Ethan Garcia won by forfeit.
In the first match of the night, Kruz Gomez at 126 pounds had to battle to the end for an 8-6 win.
Lowry's Odyn Santos finishes a pin in hist 138-pound match.
A 3-point near fall in the second period helped him to the win.
Vicent Gomez at 132 pounds, Odyn Santos (138) and Jayden Howard (145) all followed with first-period wins.
South Tahoe won two of the next three matches — one by decision and the other by pin, with Maddex Hislop pinning his opponent in 19 seconds in between at 157 pounds.
Randy Paterson (175) and Jhett Harber (190) won their matches by pin and Logan Jonas finished the dual with a forfeit at 285 pounds,
