I want to recognize an outstanding Battle Mountain citizen who takes great pride in his community.
You will routinely see him working on the weekends, carefully tending to our parks, ball fields, and recreational areas.
The degree of care this unsung hero takes to ensure citizens and visitors have a nice place to have a picnic, play baseball or soccer, or let the kids swing is praiseworthy.
Excellent work like this cannot be completed without the help of others, and I apologize for not knowing everyone involved.
This place we call home has never looked better. I think I speak for many who are thankful we have a humble, caring person like Reid De Vries, who takes pride in our hometown.
