Lowry boys soccer kicks off season with three matches


The Lowry High School boys soccer team made its way to South Lake Tahoe last week to open the season with a preseason tournament.

The Buckaroos played a pair of matches on Friday, Aug. 16, beginning with North Valleys. After being tied 1-1 at halftime, the Panthers netted three goals to collect the 4-1 win.

In the second game on Friday, Lowry dropped a 1-0 decision to Spanish Springs of the Northern 5A. 

The tournament finale, saw the Buckaroos lose 4-0 to Southeast Career Tech.

Lowry hosted Battle Mountain on Monday and results were not available at press time. 

The Buckaroos travel to Spring Creek this weekend for a second preseason tournament.
