Ladies Golf Results —
The Winnemucca Ladies Club Championship wrapped up Tuesday, Aug. 13.
It was played over two weeks, August 6 and 1. After day one, Laurie Pickett was in the lead with a score of 101 with Lori Woodland not far behind with a score of 105.
The two ladies played together on day two for the championship. The match was very back and forth with Woodland winning the front nine with a score of 49.
Laurie Pickett won the 2024 Ladies Club championship.
Pickett managed to pull together a better second nine with a score of 47. The championship came down to the last few holes with Pickett winning by only three strokes.
The final score was Laurie Pickett with a score of 203 and Lori Woodland with a score of 206. Congratulations to both Pickett and Woodland for such a hard-fought championship. Melissa Murphy finished in third place with a score of 215 and Marlea Pointer finished fourth with a score of 220.
On Aug. 6, Pickett had the fewest putts with 30 and Bryn Echevarria had the fewest putts on the 13th with 29.
Pickett and Lori Woodland each had chip-ins on Aug. 6, while Marlea Pointer and Echevarria had chip-ins on the Aug. 13. Woodland was closest to hole 2 on Aug. 13, with a distance of 65’4”.
Melissa Murphy was closest to hole 5 also on Aug. 13, with a distance of 35’4”. Congratulations to all of the winners!
Ten golfers participated in the nine-hole gross/net tournament on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 5-6 The first flight low gross winner was Pickett with a score of 51. The first flight low net winner was Debbie Connors with a score of 36.
The low net second place winner was Adua Boyle with a score of 39.
The second flight low gross winner was DiAn Putnam with a score of 65. The low net winner for the second flight was MaryLou Curti with a score of 41. The second low net winner was Debbie Okuma-Johnson with a score of 45.
The 9-hole gross/net tournament played over Monday, Aug. 12, and Tuesday. Aug. 13, had 10 ladies participating.
In the first flight, Pickett was the low gross winner with a 52. The low net winner for the first flight was Candi Longan with a score of 39. The second low net winner was Robyn Dunckhorst with a score of 40.5. The second flight low gross winner was Putnam with a score of 62.
The second flight low net winner was MaryLou Curti with a score of 36. The second-place low net winner was Debbie Okuma-Johnson with a score of 40.
