Last week’s two-day volleyball camp at PCHS exceeded expectations. Jim and Anna Aiazzi from Yerington ran the camp by invitation of coach Monica Halverson.

“The Aiazzis are deeply rooted in coaching and developing competitive and smart volleyball players,” Halverson said. “I asked them to come run our camp to give us a new perspective and energy for our 2024 season.”

The camp included drills, games and competitions.

Raegan Burrows and Aaliyah Allen are seniors now. After one last volleyball, basketball and softball season, they’ll graduate with the Class of 2025.

Last year, each of their teams competed at the State level.

“Raegan and Aaliyah are stepping up and leading with their dedication and work ethic,” says Halverson.

Every season, Halverson introduces a new motto for the year ahead. This year’s motto is “Power of the Team.”

“I am trying to get these players to work hard for each other at practice and during games to elevate their experiences with volleyball,” she said.

The girls scrimmage at Lassen on Saturday, Aug.10. August 16-17 they compete in the Yerington Tournament.
