McDermitt High School’s Shandon Camas and Laeloni Tobey came back home with individual wins at the War Coates Invitational held this past Friday at Spring Creek High School.
Camas posted a personal best of 40 feet, 6.25 inches to lead the way in he shot put and he placed third in the discus (114-6) another top throw for him.
Tobey threw a personal best in the discus at 92-5 to win the event and the junior was third in the shot out (26-10.75).
Cierra Smart placed fifth in both the shot put (26-6.75) and the discus (78-9), which was a personal best.
Kiarra Crutcher finished seventh in the shot put (26-3.75), 14th in the long jump (9-10) and she had a throw of 69-11 in the discus.
Chris Scott posted personal bests in the 110-meter hurdles (21.27 seconds) and the 300-meter hurdles (49.85) to finish fourth in both events.
Scott leaped 33-2 in the triple jump to place fifth and he set a personal best in the long jump to finish seventh at 16-5.
AJ Farmer notched a personal best in the shot put (34-9) to finish fourth and he was eighth in the discus (86-7).
Warrick Crutcher placed 11th in the 800 meters in a time of 2:53.03 and Dylan Jackson had personal best throws of 19-5.75 in the shot put and 49-6 in the discus.
McDermitt competed at the Ranchers Invitational on Tuesday and travel to Winnemucca on Saturday.
