Laeloni Tobey led the way for the McDermitt High School track and field team at the Battle Mountain Invitational on Friday, with a victory in the discus.
The junior set a personal best with a throw of 89 feet, 3 inches.
In addition, she placed fifth in the shot put (27-8).
Sophomore Cierra Smart posted three personal bests on the day, finishing sixth in the shot put (26-7), 11th in the 800 meters (3 minutes, 24 seconds) and 12th in the discus (70-11).

Kiarra Crutcher set personal bests in the shot put (26-4.5) and the discus (73-8) to place seventh in both events.
Shandon Camas led the way for the McDermitt boys, placing sixth in the discus with a toss of 98-9 and seventh in the shot put (33-5.5).
AJ Farmer placed ninth in the discus with a throw of 85 feet and 10th in the shot put (33-0).
Freshman Chris Scott finished 10th in the triple jump (32-2.5), 10th in the 300-meter hurdles (56.25), 17th in the long jump with a personal best of 14-9 and 39th in the 200 meters (27.65).
Warrick Crutcher set a personal best in the 800 meters (2:53) and the sophomore jumped 11-9.5 in the long jump.
Dylan Jackson had personal bests in the discus (45-4) and shot put (19-9).
McDermitt travels to Vale, Ore., on Friday for the Wayne Invitational.
