It was a challenging week for the Pershing County Mustangs baseball team.
The Mustangs came out on the losing end of a tripleheader against the Yerington Lions (4-0, 10-0, 11-0). They now stand ninth in the 2A at 0-10.
"We played hard and gave Yerington one really tough game. We showed signs of being competitive this weekend but are still working on playing a complete game. Three bad innings in the 11 innings we played hurt us this weekend," coach Jared Jensen said.
Aaron Kienbaum plays shortstop as Zane Guilbault plays handles left field.
PCHS hosted Battle Mountain (3-6) on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time.
They'll finish the tripleheader in Battle Mountain this weekend.
They'll be home again to complete a tripleheader against the Oasis Academy Bighorns (10-1) on April 13 at 10 a.m. and noon.
The coaches and players hope for a big Lovelock crowd.
