Mother Nature held off long enough to give the Battle Mountain track and field team a nice day to host its annual invitational on Friday at Tim Knight Field.
Battle Mountain senior Andy Wall won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 47.96 seconds and was second in the 110-meter hurdles.
Teammate Joey Smith placed third in the 300 hurdles at 19.06.
Longhorn senior Ben George posted a personal best in the discus with a toss of 110 feet, 6 inches to earn the runner-up spot. George added a 13th-place finish in the shot put (31-5).
Battle Mountain's Lindsey Bleak lands in the triple jump pit.
Andres Molina and Hunter Gilbert placed third and fifth, respectfully, in the shot put. Molina set a personal best at 35-4.5 and Gilbert threw it 33-10. Molina finished seventh in the discus (89-4) and Gilbert was 16th (80-0).
Blake Stuart turned in a fifth-place finish in the high jump, clearing the bar at 5-8 and the sophomore was eighth in the 100-meter dash at 12.15 seconds.
Eli Colver placed fourth in the 3,200 meters, 11th in the 1,600 meters and 13th in the 400 meters. Moroni Colver placed sixth in both the 400 and 800 meters.
Elias Goodman finished sixth in the 100 meters with a personal best time of 12.07 and was 10th in the 200 meters with another best time of 25.14.

Jenna Chopp (28-10) and Olivia Lemaire (28-2) paced a 3-4 finish for the Lady Longhorns in the shot put. Both throws were personal bests.
Lisette Haney (28-9.5) and Lindsey Bleak (28-5) finished fifth and sixth in the triple jump and Haney was sixth in the long jump with a mark of 12-10.5.
Sophomore Sonja Sherve placed third in the 3,200 meters with a time of 16:33 and she set a personal best in the 1,600 meters to place seventh in a time of 7:23.
Juliet LaRiva finished 10th in the 800 meters and 12th in the 1,600 and Hailey Cook and Taylor Clark placed 11th and 12th in the 100 meters.
Battle Mountain travels to Minden on Saturday for the Big George Invitational.
