The Lowry High School cross country team traveled to Sparks last Friday for the Reed Invitational.
The three Lowry girls that ran, took part in the 5,000-meter junior varsity race and junior Brooklyn Swensen placed 25th with a time of 26 minutes, 34 seconds.
Freshman Natalia Cassinelli finished 55th at 20:19 and sophomore Mariah Ramos (31:56) was 64th.
North Tahoe’s Hailey Gordon won with a time of 22:58 and Douglas’ Niza Barton was the runner-up, stopping the watch at 23:17.
In the junior varsity boys race at 5,000 meters, sophomore Jace Frydendall paced the Buckaroos with a time of 23:40.
Keaton Kenison and Finn Baldwin were neck and neck at the finish line, with Kenison beating his teammate by a second (25:07-25:08). Lennox Zebroski finished with a time of 25:47.
Wooster freshman Carson Boyer won the race with a time of 18:45 and Everett Bowlin, a freshman from Spanish Springs, was second at 19:10.
Lowry travels to Truckee on Saturday and hosts its invitational on Friday, Oct. 6.
