The Lowry High School football team began its toughest part of the schedule to close out the regular season, with a road trip to Elko on Friday night.
The Indians, celebrating their homecoming, came away with a 42-0 win, as the Buckaroos dropped to 1-2 in league play and 2-3 overall.
Lowry did its best to keep the ball away from Elko, starting the game with a seven-minute drive that went deep into Elko territory.
The Buckaroo had a new look on offense, as Joseph Vankuiken replaced the injured Erick Valencia at quarterback.
Lowry drove deep into Elko territory, but the possession ended with an interception.

Elko went to the bag of tricks to score its first touchdown on a 25-yard double pass that was caught by Eli Finlayson.
The Buckaroos caught a break early in the second quarter, when the Indians fumbled a punt, giving the ball right back.
However, the Lowry drive stalled and the ensuing punt was blocked. A handful of plays later, Elko scored to lead 13-0.
With 2:45 left in the first half, Finlayson collected his second touchdown of the night to give Elko a 21-0 advantage.
The final blow of the first half came with :06 left, as the Indians ran a punt back for a touchdown and a 28-0 lead at halftime.
Elko ran the kickoff back for a touchdown to start the third quarter and added the final score in the fourth quarter.
Lowry returns home on Friday to play Truckee, the reigning 3A state champion at 7 p.m. T
he Wolverines beat Churchill County 35-22 last week and have won 15 consecutive games.
