The Battle Mountain High School cross country team traveled to Sparks last Friday for the Reed Invitational.
Sophomore Danielle Madlena was the lone Longhorn to run in the girls 5,000-meter varsity race and finished 49th with a time of 26 minutes, 52 seconds.
Galena junior, Eleanor Raker won the race with a time of 19:37 and South Tahoe’s Lyla Landy (20:14) was second.
In the junior varsity boys race at 5,000 meters, sophomore Eli Colver paced Battle Mountain with a time of 21:19 to place 34th.
Freshman Moroni Colver was 38th, stopping the watch at 21:48 and sophomore Sean Doney was 60th at 23:13.
Wooster freshman Carson Boyer won the race with a time of 18:45 and Everett Bowlin, a freshman from Spanish Springs, was second at 19:10.
Battle Mountain travels to Elko on Friday and travels to Winnemucca on Friday, Oct. 6.
