Battle Mountain NNA swim team return to action in Minden

For the first time in 58 days, the Battle Mountain NNA swim team was back in the pool for the Molly Lahlum Memorial Autumn Freeze from Sept. 15-17 at the Carson Valley Swim Center in Minden.

Nevaeh Serna earned high-point honors in the 11-12-year-old division, winning the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2 minutes, 41.98 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle at 1:04.00.

She added first-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (1:08.97), 50-yard butterfly (32.88) and the 50-yard backstroke (33.41). 

Weston Reiva competed in first meet as a 11-year-old.

Serna was the runner-up in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 1:14.75.

She placed second in three other events as well, 50-yard freestyle (29.86), 100-yard butterfly (1:19.11) and the 200-yard freestyle (2:22/77).

Weston Reiva competed as an 11-year-old for the first time and placed sixth in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 3:21.73. 

He finished 12th in the 100-yard freestyle (1:14.97) and was 13th in the 590-yard freestyle (35.42). 

The swim team will be back in action on Oct. 6, in Roseville, Calif.
