The Battle Mountain High School cross country team headed east this past Saturday and out of the state for the 2023 Borders War at Sugar House Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. The meet is one top meets in the West.
In the girls 3-mile varsity race, sophomore Danielle Madalena stopped the clock at 24 minutes, 52.3 seconds. There were 130 runners in the race. In the girls 3-mile sophomore race, Sonja Sherve finished with a time of 29:05.2.
On the boys side in the 3-mile sophomore race, Eli Colver had the quickest time for the Longhorns at 20:05.9. Sean Doney finished at 22:55.8 and Tristan Colver had a time of 24:45.1
In the boys freshman race, Moroni Colver finished with a time of 21:25.2.
Battle Mountain travels to Sparks on Friday for the Reed Invitational.
