If the rest of the season is anything like the Northern 3A opener for the Lowry High School volleyball team, its going to be a wild year for the squad and the fans.
Lowry hosted Churchill County on Thursday, Aug. 31, in a crazy back-and-forth match that last nearly three hours. After dropping the opening set 27-25, the Greenwave came back to win the second set 32-30 and the third set 25-21.
The Lady Bucks evened the match, winning the fourth set 27-25, only to see Churchill County win the final set 15-6.
Lowry dropped to 2-5 overall and 0-1 in the Northern 3A East.

The Lady Bucks grabbed the early momentum, jumping out to a 10-2 lead in the first set, behind aces from Destiny Medicine Cloud and Savannah Stoker and block from Alexis Galarza and Karyn Morton.
The eight-point lead disappeared, as Churchill County took advantage of three missed serves by Lowry to tie the set at 17.
A kill by Lott and a tip from Angeleena Burke and a block from Stoker gave the Lady Bucks a 20-18 advantage. A kill by Stoker gave Lowry set point at 24-22, but Churchill County scored the next three points, the last on a kill to go in front 25-24.
A kill by Cambria Tisue tied the set at 25 and Lowry won the next two point to claim the win.

The second set was back-and-forth, with Churchill County leading by as many as five points.
A kill and ace by Stoker tied the set at 4-4, when the Greenwave scored the next three. Lowry erased a 16-11 deficit with a kill by Tisue and a block to tie the set at 17.
Lowry scored the next three points to go in front 20-17 and were up 22-20 after a miss hit by Churchill County.
The Lady Bucks gave the point right back on a missed serve and the Greenwave scored the next point to lead 23-22. Lowry was at set point at 24-23 after a kill by Lott, but Churchill County scored the next two points for a 25-24 lead.
The Lady Bucks scored the next two points on Greenwave hitting errors, when Churchill County took back the lead at 27-26 after an ace.
Stoker followed with three straight kills to give Lowry a 29-28 lead as the teams continued to trade points.
The Greenwave led 31-30 after an ace, only to see the Lady Bucks score the final two pints to tie the set.
Lowry ran with the momentum from the second set and scored seven of the first eight points of the third set.
The advantage quickly went away as the Greenwave 10-2 run to go in front 11-9. The set was tied three times at 12, 13 and 14, when the Greenwave scored the next three points and did not trail again.
Churchill County jumped to a 10-4 advantage in the fourth set, when Lowry came back to tie it a 11 after a kill by Stoker.
The Lady Bucks went in front 14-13, when Lott chased down the ball near the stands and got the ball back over the net. The lead was short-lived, as the Greenwave rallied for 23-19 and 24-20 lead.
Lowry used a pair of hitting errors by Churchill County to tie the set. Churchill County had match point at 25-24, when a block by Stoker kept the match going.
The Lady Bucks won the next point and then the set on an ace by Medicine Cloud.
Lowry led the fifth set at 4-3 after two kills and an ace by Stoker but it was Churchill County after that. The Greenwave ended the night on a 12-1 run to win the match.
Lowry travels to Elko on Friday for a 6 p.m. start and Spring Creek on Saturday at noon.
