I hardly feel qualified to comment on the life of Trenten Montero. There are so many who were closer than I.
I can tell you honestly that he was an exceptional young man who exemplified everything I’ve always known and felt about the entire Montero family.
I became friends with his grandfather Frenchie just before Trenten was born. Frenchie was wildly proud of his whole family and couldn’t wait for his eldest grandson to arrive.
Honest, smart, funny, kind, talented, tough, humble. The list goes on and on. Our Montero family are extraordinary people who have endured more than their fair share of generational loss and tragedy.
From Frenchie and Susie to each of their children, spouses and grandchildren, I cannot think of one Montero who isn’t the absolute best our little community has ever turned out.
Like all of you, I’m stunned and absolutely heartbroken by the loss of Glynn and Susan’s son, Maria’s husband and Noah’s father. He was a kid who I never tired of seeing or visiting with. Just a complete original in all of the best Montero ways.
I know that this community along with his larger rodeo family and friends have been ardent prayer warriors since his accident and throughout his fight for life. We didn’t get the result we wanted, but we can be sure that Trenten is exactly where we all hope to be one day.
We need to keep our prayer effort going and expanding. We need to wrap this precious family in our love and prayers and lift them up today and going forward as they begin to process their loss and begin the next chapter of their lives without their beloved Trenten.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is with us and each of the Montero’s during this time of mourning. John 11:35.
He understands our pain for He has suffered it Himself. He is here to hold us close and bind up our wounds during our suffering. In mourning the loss of Trenten, we can and should mourn with hope.
Hope in Christ’s promises for each of us and for all who believe on Him. Lean unto Him dear friends, lean unto Him.
No prayer is unanswered. With broken but prayerful hearts, Patrice and I send our love and prayers to Trenten’s dear family and we remember and repeat the statement of faith from our own beloved husband and father, Fred. Let your faith be stronger than your fear.
