The Lowry High School cross country team traveled to Reno and Rancho San Rafael Park on Friday for the Northern 3A Regional Championships.

The Lady Bucks’ Brooklyn Swensen finished 30th with a time of 25 minutes, 58 seconds. 


Mariah Ramos placed 39th, stopping the clock at 28:36.

South Tahoe sophomore Lyla Landry won the race with a time of 19:48 and Truckee’s Sidney Mcinosh was nearly a minute behind in second at 20:42. Elko’s Liliana Haynes (21:09) finished third and North Valley’s Taylor Dickey (21:27) and Spring Creek’s Avery Clayson (22:04) rounded out the top five.

Truckee took home the team title with 34 points, followed by Spring Creek (40), South Tahoe (83), Fernley (106), Elko (107) and Hug (141). 

Lowry did not have any boys at the regional championship, with Spring Creek winning the team title with 51 points. Truckee (67) finished second, followed by North Valleys (81), Wooster (11) and Elko (111).

North Valleys’ Austin Key won the individual title with a time of 16:53 and Elko’s Braylon Baggett was second at 17:12.
