Cassinelli finishes ninth at NIAA 3A State Girls Golf Championships in Mesquite

Lowry High School’s Katie Cassinelli finished ninth at the NIAA 3A State Girls Golf Championships at the Palms Golf Club and CasaBlanca Golf Club in Mesquite.

Lowry High School’s Katie Cassinelli finished ninth at the NIAA 3A State Girls Golf Championships at the Palms Golf Club and CasaBlanca Golf Club in Mesquite on Tuesday, Oct. 17 and Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Cassinelli shot rounds of 87 and 93 for a two-day total of 180. She was the lone Lowry golfer in the state tournament.

Boulder City’s Emmerson Hinds won the individual title with a two-day total of 141. 

The Meadows’ Mizara Norton (146) placed second and Virgin Valley’s (150) was third. Wooster’s Rya Montoya (152) was the highest finishing Northern golfer, placing fourth.

The Meadows won the state title with a score of 731, as the South swept the top three spots. 

Virgin Valley (790) and Boulder City (820) were second and third, respectively. 

Fernley (822), Wooster (823) and South Tahoe (827) rounded out the team scores.
