The Battle Mountain High School girls golf team concluded its season with the NIAA 2A State Champions at Toiyabe Golf Club in Washoe Valley on Tuesday, Oct. 17, and Wednesday, Oct. 18.
The Longhorns finished fourth in the team standings with a two-day total of 1,128.
North Tahoe ran away with the state title, shooting 789, with White Pine placing second at 1,097 and Sierra Lutheran (1,106) placed third.
Kiana Gonzales led the way for Battle Mountain, finishing in a tie for 13th with a two-day total of 254. She carded rounds of 126 and 128.
Jenna Chopp placed 18th with rounds of 139-132 for a 271.
Lisette Haney (143-155-298) finished tied for 29th and Alyssa Laughon (158-149-307) and Hadlee Bauer (157-154-311) were 34th and 35th, respectively. Jaylee Jorgensen (167-163-330) placed 37th.
North Tahoe had the top three individual finishers including state champion Libby Webb who shot 182. Bailey Gensburg (192) finished second, Addison Jones (193) was third and Oasis Academy’s Olivia Kutansky (200) and Sage Ridge’s Morgan Hayes (202) rounded out the top five.
