Lowry was looking to avenge a 1-0 loss to West Wendover at the beginning of September in addition to helping its playoff chances. With the 1-1 tie, the Buckaroos did both.

The match was physical from the start and both teams voiced their opinions on the field as well. After a scoreless first 40 minutes, Lowry took a 1-0 advantage in the 43rd minute on a shot by Carlos Valdez.

The Buckaroos held that lead until the 53rd minute, when West Wendover tied the match. Despite opportunities from both squads that was the final scoring of the day.

Lowry makes its final regular season road trip of the season this weekend, playing at Dayton on Friday at 3 p.m. and Fernley on Saturday at 11:45 a.m.

The Buckaroos beat both teams earlier in the year.

Elko leads the Northern 3A East at 10-0-1, followed by Spring Creek (10-1-0). West Wendover sits in third at 5-5-3 and Churchill County is fourth at 5-4-2.

Lowry is 4-5-2 and hosts Churchill County on Oct. 26.
