University of Nevada, Reno and Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles offer special 150th anniversary license plates

RENO – Available for one year, Nevada residents can order official license plates or souvenir plates (non-legal license plates for decoration) from the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles with the special University sesquicentennial logo.

The plates honor the legacy and impact that the University has had since it was first established in 1874.

The 150th plates are available to all motorists in Nevada as charitable plates, supporting Pack Provisions.

Pack Provisions is the on-campus food pantry that serves the University of Nevada, Reno community.

This is a completely free resource that is available for all members of the Wolf Pack to utilize whenever they are in need.

This resource can be accessed by students, staff and faculty.

The starting cost of the 150th plate for a sequential option is $60 as an initial fee and $30 for annual renewal.

Fees increase for personalized options. Sequential plates are available in stock at Nevada DMV offices and personalized 150th plates can be ordered online through Nevada DMV website.

“The sesquicentennial license plate commemorates the incredible and lasting impact that the University of Nevada, Reno has made and will continue to make in our great state,” University President Brian Sandoval said. “We are honored to partner with the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles to offer this as a way to show Pack Pride and to support current and future students of the University with fees from the license plates going to Pack Provisions. I would also like to express my gratitude to Gov. Joe Lombardo and members of the Nevada Legislature for their support in making these license plates possible.”
