The Battle Mountain High School volleyball team got back on the winning track this past weekend with a five-set victory over Oasis Academy on Friday night as part of homecoming week.

The Lady Longhorns claimed the first set 25-20 and had a lead late in the second set, only to see the Bighorns rally for a 27-25 win. 

The third set went back-and-forth as well, with Oasis pulling out a 25-21 win.

With the match on the line, Battle Mountain claimed the fourth set 25-22 and held on in the fifth set 15-11 for its second Northern 2A win of the season.

Battle Mountain hosted Yerington on Saturday afternoon and the Lions left with a 25-13, 25-12 and 25-18 win.

Battle Mountain is on the road for the next two weeks, starting Friday in Silver Stage at 5 p.m. 

The Lady Longhorns travel to Carson City on Saturday to play Sierra Lutheran at noon.
