The Lowry High School girls soccer team was rewarded with postseason honors for its play this past fall.
The Lady Bucks reached the Northern 3A Regional Tournament, finishing third in the East Division at 14-4 and 16-7 overall.
Senior Ala Novi, who recently signed with Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Ore., was named to the Northern 3A East, Northern 3A and 3A all- state first teams.
The postseason selections are chosen by the league coaches.
Elko’s Abigail Ramirez was named the 3A East Player of the Year and Fernley’s Tammi Valentine is the Coach of the Year.
Novi led the Lady Bucks with 29 goals, 13 more than any other teammate. She added 10 assists as well.
Lowry's Maite Avalos was named to the Northern 3A East and Northern 3A second team.
Elko, the 3A East champion, had six players on the first team including Ramirez, Brielle Cooper, Miranda Casas, Sascha Vera, Lindsey Johns and Ryinn Hatch.
Churchill County’s Karlie Simper, Sofia Basurto and Natalie Jaques was named to the first team and Fernley’s Indica Rivera and Spring Creek’s Jacey Lidquist completed the first team.
The Lady Bucks’ Natalya Guizar and Maite Avalos were named to the 3A East second team.
Guizar, a sophomore, was second on the team with 16 goals and she contributed eight assists.
Avalos, also a sophomore, had eight goals and 11 assists. The duo were also named to the Northern 3A honorable mention team.
The second team was comprised of Churchill County’s Yasmien Laceste, Kaylee Kraig and Kylie Simper; Fernley’s Naomi Wyant, Kensey Kreller and Devon Schmeter; Spring Creek’s Katie Morrill and Sarah Schwandt; Dayton’s Kiley McGrew and Elko’s Jessica Vera.
Natalya Guizar was named to the Northern 3A East and Northern 3A second team.
Novi, Ramirez, Jaques, Johns, Rivera and Lidquist were named to the Northern 3A first team.
Novi, Ramirez and Jaques were the first-team, all-state selections. Cooper, Hatch, Casas, Vera, Basurto and Simper were named to the Northern 3A second team.
Johns, Rivera and Lidquist were selected for the all-state, second team.
Lowry’s Britain Backus and Bryce Brinkerhoff were named to the 3A East honorable mention team.
Brinkerhoff scored two goals to go with two assists and Backus netted nine goals to go with eight assists.
