The Lovelock Pop Warner football teams played the sport they love all season.

They racked up many wins and a few losses, learning from each game no matter the outcome.

One highlight of the year was hosting the playoffs. Another was Future Mustang Night.

The players ran onto the field and did the "Mustang Spellout" with the varsity team.

The coaches included Paul Malay (6U), Jayce Montes (8U), Dustin Sullivan (10U), Jesse Canchola (12U) and Wayne Maita (14U).

The 12U players finished the regular season with a 5-2 record. They were the number one seed going into the playoffs where they lost to Carson City in the first round.

"I couldn't be more proud of this group as their future is bright," said coach Canchola.

The 14U team had a 6-1 record, played in the semifinals as the number one seed and lost to Douglas.

"The 14U came close to playing in the championship but overall it was a successful season," said Canchola. "They're looking to be back with another opportunity next year."
