The Battle Mountain NNA swim team was in Henderson from Nov. 9-12 for the 2023 Nevada State Short Course Championships at Heritage Park Aquatics Center.
The three swimmers perform fantastic all weekend and all had personal best times in all most every event.
Daxson Bakker was in the top 20 in every event and Nevaeh Serna was in the finals in five of seven events and improved her times in each, placing her best finishes in the 100 backstroke and 50 backstroke.
Coach Michelle Hall was very proud of her team.
Serna competed in the girls 11-12-year-old division and was third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1 minute, 7.24 seconds, which was an improvement of 1.703 seconds.
Weston Reiva swims the breaststroke at the Nevada State Short Course Championships in Henderson.
She took off nearly two seconds to place 12th in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:17.20.
Serna placed 12th in the 200-yard freestyle (2:24.85) and she finished 33rd in the 50-yard butterfly.
She placed 13th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:02.63 and 13th in the 100-yard individual medley (1:12.30).
Weston Reiva chopped off four seconds in the boys 11-12-year-old 200-yard freestyle to place 29th in a time of 2:43.08. He finished 35th in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:12.52, a 1.73-second improvement and was 35th in the 50-yard freestyle (33:03).
Daxon Bakker competed in the boys 9-10-year-old division and scored 16 points. He finished 13th in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:49.19, taking off nearly 18 seconds.

Bakker placed 14th in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 48.76 and was 14th in the 110-yard breaststroke at 1:48.73.
Bakker placed 17th in the 100-yard individual medley in a time of 1:33.01 and was 19th in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:19.57.
The youngster was 11th in the 50-yard freestyle (59:15), which a 2.48-second improvement over her previous best time.
The next meet for Serna is in Plantation, Fla., for the Speedo Junior National Championship from Dec. 6-10.
