Battle Mountain NNA swimmers compete at King of the Hill in Carson City

The Battle Mountain NNA swim team made its way to Carson City for the King of the Hill at the Carson Aquatic Center from Oct. 20-22.

In the 13 and older division, Katarina Klatt and Sam Dalinis were the queen and king of the hill.

In the 12 and under division, Nevaeh Serna was queen in the 100-yard backstroke and 200 individual medley.

Adaley Ramos took part in her first meet for the swim club.

Serna took nearly two seconds off to win the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2 minutes, 37.31 seconds. Serna won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:11.28, beating out Brynn Bailey at 1:11.79.

She placed second in the 100-yard individual medley (1:14.68), as well as the 50-yard backstroke (33.33), where Bailey beat her by .05 seconds.

She was the runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle (1:05.39) and Serna placed third in the 50-yard butterfly in a time of 32.74 and was third in the 50-yard freestyle (29.26).

Serna and Bailey had another close race in the 200-yard freestyle with Bailey winning (2:20.81-2:21.61). In the 100-yard butterfly, Serna placed second with a time of 1:17.31.

Ramos competed in the 12 and under girls division and finished eighth in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:26.42. 

Nevaeh Serna was queen of the 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley for the Battle Mountain NNA swim team.

She placed 12th in the 50-yard freestyle (59.23), 14th in the 235-yard backstroke (26.87) and 15th in the 25-yard butterfly.

In the girls 10 and under division, Saige Bakker placed 15th in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:15.72, which was a 6.18-second improvement.

She chopped off more than five seconds in the 50-yard butterfly to place 17th at 53.88 and She finished 17th in the 50-yard backstroke (50-10). 

Bakker cut off nearly 16 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle to place 22nd with a time of 1:36.31 and did nearly the same in the 50-yard breaststroke (1:01.14) to finish 3oth. 

Bakker placed 14th in the 200-yard freestyle (3:24.32), was 26th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:48.02) and 40th in the 50-yard freestyle (42.63).
