Lowry High School’s Erick Bergenheier, Jordan Bills and Txema Bengochea were names to the Northern 3A East all-league, second team, which is selected by the league’s coaches.
Erick Bergenheier
Bergenheier, earned his honor at first base, and hit. 340 on the season with 18 hits, 11 runs scored, nine RBI, and three doubles. Bills was chosen for the outfield and hit .345 on the year with 20 hits, 14 runs scored, nine RBI, a double and triple. Bergenheier and Bills are seniors.
Jordan Bills
Bengochea, a freshman, was selected as a utility player and hits .324, with a team-leading 24 hits and 19 runs scored. He had eight RBI and two doubles on the year.
Txema Bengochea
Churchill County’s Baylor Sandberg was the Northern 3A East Player of the Year and Scott Gilligan of Spring Creek was chosen as the Coach of the Year.
The first team included: Riley Smith (catcher, Spring Creek), Preston Chamberlin (first base, Elko), Gabe Tollestrup (second base, Fernley), Alex Luna (third base, Elko), Logan Lopez (shortstop, Springs Creek), Cooper Hill (outfield, Churchill County), Jacob Moore (outfield , Dayton), Ayden Harp (outfield, Spring Creek), James Kelsey (pitcher, Churchill County), Caleb Culp (pitcher, Spring Creek), Jake Cumming (pitcher, Fernley), Cai Alvarado (DH, Elko) and Brady Alves (utility, Churchill County).
The second team was rounded out by: Carter Paul (catcher, Churchill County). Craig Slater (second base, Elko), David Hutchinson (third base, Spring Creek), Joe Motsinger (outfield, Fernley), Fernando Acosta (outfield, Elko), Bryce Adams (pitcher, Churchill County), Dylon Comer (pitcher, Fernley), Alex Salaz (pitcher, Elko), Ty Francis (DH, Dayton) and Ivor Evans (utility, Dayton).
Sandberg and North Valleys’ Caden Bunch were named Co Players of the Year for the Northern 3A.

The second team included: Logan Arata (catcher, Truckee), Matt Tanner (first base, Truckee), Gabe Tollestrup (second base, Fernley), Alex Luna (third base, Elko), Forrest Jones (shortstop, South Tahoe), Cooper Lee (outfield, Churchill County), JR Elizalde (outfield, South Tahoe_, Ayden Harp (outfield, Spring Creek), Damon Bacon (outfield, Truckee), Jake Cumming (pitcher, Fernley), Ian Ross (pitcher, South Tahoe), Brady Alves (utility, Churchill County), Evan Ott (utility, South Tahoe) and Jonathan Bender (DH), South Tahoe).
Pahrump Valley’s Roy Uyeno was named the 3A State Coach of the Year, as the Trojans beat South Tahoe for the state title.
