The American Rescue Plan Affordable Cares Act provided a one time shot of government assistance to stimulate the community by helping people in the rural area with a specific nutritional need of more refrigerated storage at the local Lovelock Community Food Pantry located at Eighth and Franklin in the old city yard in Lovelock.

A walk-in refrigerator and freezer were installed with all of the electrical modifications needed for this project in consideration of the building.

When this project started under Mayor Giles authority, Pat Rowe, Starlin Gentry, and Jonathan Reynolds were on the board.

Geraldine Atkinson and Penny Higby, co-directors of L.C.F.P. and all of the volunteers are thrilled with the new walk-ins.

Thank you to Lovelock City Council members and Mayor Mike Giles.

The U.S.P.S. held their annual food drive collection for the Lovelock Community Food Pantry on Saturday, May 13.
