Western Nevada Cattlewomen host annual fundraiser

Western Nevada CattleWomen (WNCW) is a 501(c)3 with a mission to promote cattle production and the beef industry.

We strive to promote and preserve rural agriculture in western region of Nevada: Douglas, Carson, Lyon, Washoe, and Storey counties, along with Inyo and Mono Counties in California ensuring a prosperous development and understanding of the beef industry through science and education.

On May 27, they will be hosting their fundraiser Dinner and Dance at the Douglas County Fairgrounds (920 Dump Road Gardnerville, NV 89410).

We are excited to have many local businesses apart of our evening from the auction items to the chef (A Catered Affaire), bars (Bike and Brew and CV Flyte), and music by Jake Jacobson!

The proceeds benefit our ag scholarship program, our efforts in agriculture education, and our assistance in ag-related events.

The scholarships are open to all high school students residing in WNCW’s 7 counties who are furthering their education in an agriculture related field.

We believe in supporting the youth who are working hard to continue the agricultural lifestyle. We donate to fairs and events where their efforts are seen.

We partner with Nevada Farm Bureau’s Ag in the Classroom program. These take place in local schools, giving us an opportunity to teach students about cattle and their numerous by-products.

Community outreach and education are important to us. We attend local events to provide information about cooking with beef and its nutritional importance.

We even host blood drives to “beef up the blood supply” proving participants with nutrient-packed beef morsel.

We assist culinary departments with beef for students to learn how to cook and incorporate beef into their recipes. In addition, we donate beef to events ag events so everyone in attendance can have a delicious meal! For more visit https://wncwdinnerdance.eventbrite.com/
