The memories were flowing along with some tears and a lot of laughter, as McDermitt High School inducted its first Hall of Fame Class on Saturday, April 29, in a ceremony at the Community Hall.
Twenty-eight individuals and 11 teams were the first of many classes to be honored.
Long-time staff that had been a vital part of McDermitt were also honored on the night.
It was also announced that every year, one boy and one girl will be honored as the top athlete.
The boys award will be named after Lowell Egan and the girls after Jaimi Wilkinson,
The individuals include: Jack Cook (coach), Arnie Zimmerman, Buzz Zimmerman, Dennis Zimmerman, Bert Polkinghorne (coach), John Moddrell (coach), Neil Stevens (coach), Bob Pace (coach), Pat Goff, Lowell Egan, Michon Echave, Junior Huttman, Todd Murrah, Ralph Rowley (coach), Dan Armstrong (coach), Jaimi Wilkinson (coach), Nick Wilkinson, Sean Rackman, Richard Egan (athlete, coach), Jerry Hepworth, Rusty Bengoa, Kelsey Bengoa, Monte Sampson, Justin Goff, A.B. Beck, Chuck Swisher, Jeff Kerns and Cindy Sherburn.
