For the Record

Items in For the Record are compiled from public records from Pershing, Lander and Humboldt counties for which each agency releases information. All arrested individuals are presumed innocent until proven otherwise within the justice system. 


COURT DOCKET


April 26

In the case of Spencer Egan Zielinski, charged with Battery. DDA Kevin Pasquale informed the court that this matter would be set out for 6 months. If the defendant stays out of trouble, this matter would be dismissed.


April 27

In the case of Kevin Hinkey, charged with Domestic Battery. State was represented by DDA Shane Bell and defendant was present with alternate public defender, Maureen McQuillan. State did a one time dismissal pursuant to NRS 174.085.


In the case of Kevin Hinkey, charged with Assault with a deadly weapon. State was represented by DDA Shane Bell and defendant was present with alternate public defender, Maureen McQuillan. State did a one time dismissal pursuant to NRS 174.085.


In the case of John Hulsey, charged with Aiming a firearm toward a human being. State was represented by DDA Shane Bell and defendant was present with alternate public defender, Matt Stermitz. State did a one time dismissal pursuant to NRS 174.085.


In the case of Rachel Lanae Thomas, charged with 1: Unlawful possession for sale a schedule  I or II substance, 2: Possession of a controlled substance. State made motion to dismiss the case pursuant to negotiations in the District Court case.


In the case of Ross Bryce, charged with Possession of a controlled substance. State amended criminal complaint through interlineations NRS. Defendant entered a no contest plea to amended charge. The court accepted his plea and ruled as follows: fine of $1,140 converted to 7 days jail and credit for time served. Defendant was also sentenced to 3 months jail with 3 months suspended on condition he has no further like violations of the law other than minor traffic within 1 year. Bail exonerated. 


April 28

In the case of Omar Flores, charged with Failure to yield or exercise due care to pedestrian. Defendant entered a guilty plea. Court canvassed his plea and accepted the same. Court ruled as follows: Fine of $115 to be paid in full by June 1, 2023. 


May 1

In the case of Linda Kay Markham, charged with Possession of drug paraphernalia. Defendant came in, read and signed paperwork, plead guilty to charges, and set up payment plan of $50 per month at counter. 


May 2

In the case of Ashley Frances Andrews, charged with Trespassing. Defendant entered no contest plea at counter. Judge gives credit for time served.

Courtney Spring, 49, was arrested for DUI. Bail $1,140.


April 29

Jose Angle Barajas, 57, was arrested for Domestic Battery. Bail $3,000.

May 1

Brooklynn Rose, 24, was arrested for Failure to Appear. Bail $1,340. Cash only.

Joshua Heckman, 43, was arrested for Unlawful possession of stun gun, Possession of Schedule I or II controlled substance-2 counts, Possession of debit card without cardholders consent, and multiple traffic violations. Bail $26,000.
